Meet CEO & Founder

Terri Y. McGuire

Terri received her medical training at the Duke University Physician Assistant Program and Master of Public Health Degree in Community Health Education from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She collected graduate awards from both institutions. She completed her undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University with a major in Health and Exercise Science and Pre-Medicine.

She launched eVolve to help close gaps in health literacy and advocate for people of marginalized identities within healthcare settings in an effort to advance health equity.

Terri has practiced in various medical settings with a current role in Primary Care. She has also supported a number of community initiatives, including the Commission on Health in Maryland, Health Education Curriculum Advisory Committee and Maryland Mission of Mercy and Health Equity Festival. 

Terri has served as a health advocate for multiple clients, that include patients and caregivers and has provided expert opinion as a Health Literacy Consultant for a healthcare technology company, private practice and other healthcare organizations. 

Terri is a very engaging speaker who has been featured for the 21st and 22nd Annual IHA Health Literacy Conference, Black Women United Wellness Series, The Healthcare Connector Podcast, 5th Annual Henderson Hughes Health Partners Minority Health Expo, LifeOmic's Empowering Health Literacy for All Panel, Our Journey To Equity Podcast and Brazilian Health Literacy Network Podcast. Some talks to date include Personal and Organizational Health Literacy: Lets eVolve and Shift Narratives, Medical Gaslighting and Gatekeeping is Antithetical to Improving Health Literacy and Outcomes and Patient Advocacy and Dying with Dignity. 

She relies heavily on divinely inspired wisdom, spiritual practice and intuition, coupled with her experience.

She is a daughter, sister, wife, mother, auntie and friend.
